Can regenerative agriculture adoption be measured at scale? Our 2025 survey of 3,800+ coffee farmers across 12 countries says yes. 🌱 Since 2014, the Rainforest Alliance has been the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) partner for Nestlé's Nescafé sustainability initiative, the Nescafé Plan. Our new report looks at regenerative agriculture adoption trends across Nescafé’s supply chain from 2018-2025, finding that: 🧑🌾 Nescafé Plan farmers have improved their adoption of soil cover, integrated weed management, agroforestry, and intercropping practices. ☕ In some origin countries, optimized fertilization and renovating aging coffee farms remain technically challenging or expensive for farmers to implement. 📊 Early analysis suggests that increased regenerative practice adoption, as measured by Nescafé's Farm Assessment Tool, is positively associated in most origin countries with higher farm yields and better nitrogen efficiency. Regenerative agriculture adoption is a journey. It takes time, trust, and continued local engagement to give farmers the technical know-how, evidence, and confidence to shift practices. And regular, robust, and reliable farm-level M&E data is a critical part of this work. 🤝 Interested in M&E support for your own sustainability program?
