Mike Cordero BJJ

Everyone I started training with is either on TRT or retired. I refuse both. Wrote this because someone needs to know there's a third option.

My wife asked me to quit in March. Not the way you'd think. She wasn't mad. She made me coffee first, which is how I knew it was serious. She'd watched me ice my elbow on the couch every single night for about a year. She watched me take the long way around to pick up our daughter so I wouldn't have to lift her with the bad arm. And she did the math any sane person does — 52, sore every morning, getting cranked on by guys half his age — and she asked me, kindly, to find something that didn't hurt me. Cycling. Golf. Anything. She was completely right about what she was seeing. She was wrong about why, and I didn't have the language to explain it yet, so I just got defensive, which helped nothing. Here's the why. It wasn't the rolling beating me up. It was that nothing repaired overnight anymore. You train, you do a little damage to the tendon, and you're supposed to rebuild it by morning. After a certain age that rebuild just stops happening unless you specifically restart it. So I was carrying a year of un-repaired training and it looked, from the outside, exactly like "this sport is too hard on you now." I'd thrown money at the shelf. The joint blend with the runner on the label. Didn't move the needle because none of that stuff is aimed at the thing that actually rebuilds tendon. What restarted it was moringa. Single ingredient — Tap-Less, Satori. Coming up on a year. The ice pack lives in the freezer now and mostly stays there. I didn't quit. I fixed the thing she was actually scared of. She stopped asking. If someone who loves you is asking you to step back — they're not wrong about what they see. Go fix the real thing instead of quitting the thing you love. Tap-Less. Satori. Ninety days, minimum — it's slow, that's the tissue, not the product. Link below. Mark, 52. I train at Diablo Valley BJJ. Not sponsored. Married up, clearly.
