Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe

Rūta Turčinskienė

What impressed me most at the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe Athlete Performance Center? Not only the technology or the number of medical tests. It was the integrated approach to athlete health.📌 At the Athlete Performance Center (APC) in Austria, I had the opportunity to observe and contribute to the multidisciplinary assessment of professional cyclists, where dentistry is considered part of the same medical framework as cardiology Amaar Ujeyl /orthopaedics Samuel Fisser / functional diagnostics and biomechanics Matt Tinsley / nutrition Rob van der Werf and laboratory medicine. What stood out to me was how different findings are brought together to understand the athlete as a whole. 👌‼️🚴 It was a privilege to spend several inspiring days with Gerard Anton — a former professional athlete, an outstanding sports dentist and the author of the book #YourMouth-YourPerformance. 📖 His experience, knowledge and perspective on the relationship between oral health and athletic performance made this experience especially valuable. 🚀 This also reinforced the importance of my ongoing work in Lithuania Together with ABILI and Aurelijus Domeika with athlete testings. I am systematically following potential indicators of bite stabilisation and changes in athletes functional and body parameters, integrating dental, functional and biomechanical data over time. 🏃🏻⛷️🏊⛹️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️ It is very important knowledge exchange as a #LithuanianSportsMedicineFederation (Paulius Petraitis)member as a dentist: contribute to the development of sports medicine, and I look forward to sharing these perspectives at the upcoming Lithuanian Athletics Federation annual seminar for coaches and athetes.( Brigita Virbalytė ). The future of sports medicine and performance lies in understanding the athlete as a whole. #SportsDentistry #SportsMedicine #AthleteHealth #RedBullBORAhansgrohe #PersonalizedMedicine #OralSystemicHealth #BaSOMA #EA4SD
