6 minutes. Run as far as you can. ⏱️ That’s the LFC 6-Minute Test. Players run as far as possible around a 400m track in six minutes. It’s a maximal aerobic capacity test used to calculate a player’s MAS: distance in metres ÷ 360 seconds = MAS in m/s. It sets their baseline fitness when they return for pre-season and dictates the pacing for the rest of their summer conditioning. What’s expected per position: 🔴 Central midfielders / fullbacks: 1.8km to 2.0km+ (holding 5.0 to 5.5 m/s) 🔴 Wingers / forwards: 1.7km to 1.85km 🔴 Centre-backs: 1.6km to 1.75km 🔴 Goalkeepers: 1.4km to 1.55km I ran it wearing a @statsports tracker. These are the same metrics professional teams use to check whether players are hitting the intensity they need in training: total distance, max speed, high-speed running, sprint distance, accelerations and decelerations. PSG, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, the Springboks and the All Blacks all use it. Want to track your own sessions like a pro or monitor your whole squad with the STATSports team solution?
