A mother's access to quality care shouldn't depend on where she lives. Meet Lydia. She's expecting twins, but she doesn't know it, and the hospital is hours away. Now, thanks to portable ultrasound at a clinic near her home, a trained nurse spots the twin pregnancy early and refers her to a facility for the care she needs. In Kenya, AMPATH and Moi University, supported by the Gates Foundation and other partners, are bringing portable ultrasound to local clinics. More than 7,000 mothers have been reached so far and counting.🤰🏾
