"I always love designing 1st birthday invitations,” says our Senior Graphic Designer Jin Xia (@jin_xia_art). “The themes are always so sweet, and the puns are top-notch. For this ‘Hole in One’ golf-themed invitation, I leaned into my favorite medium: watercolors. Watercolors are my go-to for younger kids’ birthdays because of the soft, painterly textures and simple shapes that create a warm, whimsical feel—perfect for baby themes. To add a bit of contrast and definition, I paired the hand-painted elements with delicate graphite linework, bringing in subtle details while keeping the design light and playful. The combination of these textures adds a handcrafted touch, making the invitation feel extra special—just like a little one’s big day!"
