Purple Shampoo: What It Actually Does To Brassy Hair

Purple shampoo neutralizes brass, it does not lighten hair. Violet sits opposite yellow on the color wheel, so depositing a violet tint cancels the yellow optically and the tone reads cooler. Your hair stays the same level of light or dark. Leave it on five to ten minutes for a stronger correction, and use it once or twice a week rather than every wash. Works on blonde, bleached, gray, silver and white hair.
